The PS&DAS section is responsible for the development, maintenance, up-gradation, operation, and control of advanced High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) systems used in fusion and RF applications. These power supplies are designed for ratings up to 130 A and configurable voltages up to 80 kV, meeting stringent requirements such as high voltage stability, low ripple, low fault energy, and fast dynamic response. Such characteristics are essential for reliable operation of extraction systems comprising accelerators in Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) systems and high-power RF devices including Tetrodes, Klystrons, and Gyrotrons.
The section also plays a key role in the operation and control of the Positive Neutral Beam Injection system for SST-1. Its activities include the development and maintenance of VME-based real-time control systems for ion source power supplies and PLC-based control systems for various auxiliary systems. In addition, PS&DAS manages signal conditioning and data acquisition systems for multiple diagnostic subsystems.
