Research Facilities

Our Research Facilities

IPR houses some of India's most advanced plasma physics research facilities. These state-of-the-art installations support a wide range of experimental, diagnostic, and computational research activities in fusion and plasma science.

Access to these facilities is available to IPR researchers, HBNI students, and approved external academic collaborators subject to safety clearance and formal application.

Facility Access Information

IPR research facilities are accessible to: (1) Regular IPR scientists and PhD students, (2) Post-doctoral fellows, (3) External academic researchers with approved MoU or collaborative project, (4) Visiting researchers with formal invitation from IPR faculty.

External researchers must submit a formal application to the Academic Committee with: research proposal, institutional approval letter, CV, and details of the intended experiment. Applications are reviewed within 30 days.

Yes. All facility users must complete mandatory radiation safety and laboratory safety training. IPR provides these training modules. Certificates must be obtained before lab access is granted.

IPR welcomes joint experiments through signed MoUs with national institutions (IITs, IISc, BARC, etc.) and international organizations (ITER, EURATOM, US-DOE laboratories). Interested institutions may contact the Academic Coordinator.
