Resources for Current Students

This section provides all essential academic resources, guidelines, and forms for students currently enrolled in PhD programs at IPR under HBNI. Please check this page regularly for updates on schedules, deadlines, and new notifications.

HBNI Guidelines & Regulations

All PhD students must complete a minimum of 32 credit hours of course work in the first two years. A minimum CGPA of 6.5 (on a 10-point scale) is required to proceed to thesis registration. Course work includes core courses, electives, and a seminar course.

After successful completion of course work, students submit a thesis proposal to the Doctoral Committee. Following approval, formal registration with HBNI is completed. This typically happens at the end of Year 2.

Every registered student must submit a six-monthly progress report to their Doctoral Committee. The committee meets every 6 months to review progress. Students who do not meet milestones receive a warning and may be put on probation.

PhD students are entitled to 30 days of casual leave per year as per HBNI rules. Prior approval from the supervisor and academic coordinator is required. Maternity/paternity leave is provided as per Government of India norms.
